We hope that everyone who is interested in preserving the character of Kendal, will join us and help us to influence and encourage both its unique historic townscape and its social vibrancy. Kendal is a most interesting place to live, but those who value its environment have to maintain constant vigilance over the preservation of its attractions. This, however, has to be balanced with an understanding of the economics of a present day country market town, to maintain employment, housing, leisure facilities and tourist attraction. This can only happen when interested local people work with the local authorities to let their feelings be known.
