Again on the subject of litter, one of our current ‘bones of contention’ is the ever growing blight of ugly, extremely large, wheelie bins which have suddenly begun to spread like giant mushrooms down some of Kendal’s historic yards.
Not only do they look unsightly, they also attract other rubbish which is piled up and around them. What did we do before these giant bins appeared? Where did we store our rubbish then? If we must endure these bins then surely they could be screened from view at minimal cost but would ensure that the characterful nature of Kendal’s yards are kept for future generations.
