The regular re-painting of the plaques goes on as and when it is needed. The plaque on Nether Bridge has ben repainted now that the work in Kirkland is finished and the one on the Castle Dairy will be repainted after it is restored later this year.
A plaque to Paul Hogarth plaque is now in place on 28 Caroline Street. Paul Hogarth, born in Kendal, is one of its largely unrecognised sons, and his legacy should be remembered. Paul Hogarth’s work has been Exhibited at AbbotHall.
A plaque for Kirkbarrow Lane was unveiled at the official opening of the newly renovated Kirkland on 22nd June.
Two replacement plaques at Fisher Tarn Reservior were ‘opened’, on December 3rd, before representatives of United Utilities, the Civic Society and others interested. They replace one which was stolen and another that has been removed to safekeeping
The old circular painted plaque on Romney's House on Milnthorpe Road the house had not been replaced after recent redecoration and there had been some concern that it might 'disppear'. After several letters sent to the owners it was eventually replaced in August, now painted in glorious colour.
Building restoration of Stricklandgate House has been completed and the scaffolding removed, to reveal the building looking its best. The faded plaque on the wall however lets it down and it has been put on the programme of re-painting.
