Unfortunately, last year's New Year Walk had to be cancelled, to everyone’s disappointment, because walking conditions on the ice were so hazardous.
However, it was rescheduled later in the year on June 27th, led by Tony Wrathall, your Chairman. It was a glorious afternoon full of historical interest, wild flowers and bird song – a sheer delight. The party took in part of the Alphabet Trail, the cowslip meadow, Darwin Leighton’s plaque, Helsfell Hall I and the ‘Wolf’s Cave’ which involving some (optional) scrambling through rocks and brambles, before returning to a delicious tea at Bleak House. Thank you Tony and Anthea.
